HR Business Manager - £35,000 - 38,000 - manufacturing engineering - West Yorkshire

The HR Business Manager (HRBM) will be responsible for analyzing and diagnosing business issues with the plant leadership, and ensuring visibility of related HR issues, risks and opportunities. The HR Business Manager (HRBM) functions as a strategic business partner and hands-on HR - Manager for the facility.

The HRBM identifies synergies within other divisions and performs responsibilities related to: design and implementation locally of global HR strategies: plan, organize, direct, control and monitor employee relations activities: give support and direction in compensation matters: recruit personnel; HR Programs, training and proactive development of employees and other activities as directed by the Business Unit and/or Corporation.

The HRBM ensures that all HR-legal and compliance related tasks are defined and observed. As a member of the local management team, the HRBM defines and implements policies to support business success.

Job Responsibilities
HR Strategy: define, implement and execute local HR strategy in order to improve efficiency on shop floor as well as of staff functions.
Labour Relations: manage the relationship with Amicus organised workforce and participate in development and negotiation of bargaining agreements, facilitate change in attitudes and agreements to enable achievement of business goals.

Staffing: recruit with hiring managers suitable candidates, guide supervisors in case of insufficient performance and / or behavior in order to improve.
Compensation & benefits: give direction on all compensation & benefits issues, be aware of internal and external market data. Ensuring compliance to internal processes and procedures.
Provide administration support and liaison with payroll/HR shared services centre to ensure accurate record keeping

Job Requirements
Min 5 years of progressive HR experience ideally in a multi-site manufacturing/engineering environment
Ideal candidate would have experience of working in an outsourced HR service delivery model
Experience as a local management team member and HR generalist with responsibilities in labor negotiations, employee relations and interpreting labour laws. Must be a credible plant level leader.
Able to work effectively as part of a virtual product line and business unit HR team, contributing to the team and leveraging it and the Enterprise for Best Practice HR tools and processes.
Strong business acumen
Familiarity with HR IT systems
Strong Microsoft Suite skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Strong communicator
Ability to perform effectively within budgetary guidelines
Decisive and confident, open and candid with the ability to energize others
Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment
Able to build strong and dependable teams
Possesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
Working knowledge of international HR practices and experience with international management teams
Experience working in a 6 Sigma culture
