Learning & Development Manager

Rate: £ 40 K (full-time (per year)) + + Benefits

Learning & Development Manager - £40,000 plus car plus benefits (blue-chip manufacturing fmcg)

Job Purpose
To ensure business unit maximises the potential of its team members by investigating, developing and providing development opportunities cost effectively.

No direct reports
Budget holder and further responsibility through HR Managers and HR team
Reporting into Business Unit HR Director

Context
Talent management, succession planning and getting the best out of employees is a key part of the HR function and the role supports the HR Managers in reaching their objectives.

Accountabilities
Provide a professional and effective training and development service to all sites. Identify L&D needs, and determine costs and benefits of addressing these needs. Implement agreed actions.

Key Performance Indicators
Learning and development activities tracked per site. Action plans and agreed timescales for completion in place.

Knowledge Skills and experience
Experience of working in general manufacturing ideally previous experience in automotive, food manufacture, distribution, engineering/manufacturing industries
Degree qualified or equivalent and a CIPD member and or relevant training qualification with experience at management level within an HR environment (working closely with HR Managers and HR Bus Partners)
Be able to demonstrate an active involvement in shaping an organisation through major change initiatives including behavioural and cultural change
Strong people management and coaching skills
Ability to design and deliver learning and development strategies and initiatives
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Highly developed organisational skills, the ability to motivate others

Job Description in brief
To understand the requirements of the business and devise appropriate education, training and development activities at all levels
Develop, implement and lead employee engagement programmes
Evaluate L&D Programmes
Network and benchmark effectively to ensure awareness of best practice
To work with sector skills council, LSC and other bodies to ensure all funding streams are maximised
To design and deliver generic and specialist training/development activities
ACT AS An 'integral part' of the HR TEAM to deliver on HR Strategy and L&D agenda
To work closely with HR Managers on the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to support learning and development
To work with the HR Managers on succession planning and talent management
To undertake specialist projects within the learning and development field
